Three clerihews about one person

Chief Inspector Morse

Felt little remorse

For being brusque, bigoted, unbending

And unbearably condescending.

Chief Inspector Morse,

Late of the Thames Valley force

Was, indeed, tetchy, touchy and terse

But it could have been worse.

Chief Inspector Morse,

Despite his shortcomings, would endorse

What all discerning men should most revere:

Jaguars, Wagner, women and beer.
