A poem which might be included in an Anthology of Bored Verse

A storekeeper? Really? No, do tell me more!

Yes, I’d love to hear what it entails.

Control of the washers and rivets and nuts,

Is that so? And the bolts, screws and nails?

How very intriguing! More to it you say?

I imagined that might be the case.

So you catalogue all of the items before

You deposit each piece in its place?

You must have a mountain of boxes. What? No?

Not boxes but bins. Well I say!

Oh, really? So ‘bin’ is the technical term?

My! One learns something new every day.

Yes, a wonderful party, a marvellous spread

And such interesting people, how true.

Me? Just a brain surgeon. Better move on!

Yes, nice to have met you too.
